There is an assumption that if you have AIDS, you have done something wrong. HIV is the label that signals an immoral life. The high stigma attached to the disease in Ethiopia means that many HIV-positive people are thrown out of their families and have no choice but to face a future alone, in overcrowded hospitals, or one of the organizations set up by local NGOs.
