2020 call for proposals opens with important new features

The deadline to apply for the 24th edition of the Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Prize, awarded each year by Médicos del Mundo to photographers who, through their images, denounce injustices and abuses, or bear witness to those who fight them, is now open.

What’s new in this edition!

This year, taking into account the difficult situation we are going through, especially within the photographic community, we have decided to change the format of our award, which will no longer be a work grant but a cash prize of 6,000 €, directly to the winner of the contest.

In addition, thanks to the sponsorship of Leica Camera Iberia, a reference camera, the Q2 (valued at almost 5,000 euros) and a set of 10 recently published photobooks, provided by Editorial La Fábrica, will be added to this amount.

As if that were not enough, we are launching a new platform that will facilitate the reception and management of applications, and for those who participate, the submission of their projects. In this edition, all applications must be submitted exclusively through the Picter platform, with free registration.

Key dates:

>> he deadline for submission of papers is open until October 11.

>> The jury will meet in November and the decision will be announced in the middle of that month.

>> The exhibition of the winning works and the award ceremony will be held in January 2021 at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, as long as the health situation permits.
