Del 3 al 28 de mayo, se exhibe la exposición fotográfica “La Larga Noche Saharaui” en el centro Joaquín Roncal de Zaragoza.
Este proyecto fotográfico, organizado por Médicos del Mundo, pretende trasladar a la ciudadanía las inquietudes y esperanzas de la población saharaui que vive en los campamentos de refugiados y en el Sáhara Occidental ocupado por Marruecos.
The photograph exhibition “Ghosts of the Sahara”, winner of the most recent World Press Photo, is at the Joaquin Roncal Center from 3 to the 28 May.
This photography project organized by Médicos del Mundo aims to translate into citizenship the concerns and hopes of the Sahrawi people living in refugee camps and in parts of the Western Sahara controlled by Morocco.
Through the snapshots and testimonies compiled by the Irish photographer Andrew McConnell, winner of the 12th Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Prize, the exhibition shows how the Sahrawi people have been living in exile and under occupation for 34 years.
“Ghosts of the Sahara” attempts to stir the visitor to shed light on the Sahrawi people and their territory so that they are not forgotten. In order to be able to see the photographs the visitor will have to shine a torch on them, which is provided at the entrance. By doing this visitors are invited to become involved and to play a part in ensuring that the Sahrawi people do not remain invisible.

Du 3 au 28 mai, a lieu l’exposition photographique « La longue nuit sahraouie », lauréate de la dernière World Press Photo dans le centre Joaquín Roncal de Zaragoza.
Ce projet photographique, organisé par Médicos del Mundo, vise à transmettre aux citoyens les inquiétudes et les espoirs de la population sahraouie vivant dans les camps de réfugiés et dans le Sahara occidental occupé l’État marocain.
À travers les clichés et les témoignages recueillis par le photographe irlandais Andrew McConnell, lauréat du XIIème prix International de photographie humanitaire Luis Valtueña, l’exposition vise à montrer la situation dans laquelle vit la population sahraouie après 34 ans d’exil et de l’occupation.
« La Longue Nuit Saharaouie » essaie d’amener le visiteur à projeter la lumière sur la terre et le peuple du Sahara occidental et, de cette façon, empêcher que les deux ne soient oubliés. Ainsi pour pouvoir voir les photos, les visiteurs devront les éclairer avec des lampes de poche fournies à l’entrée. C’est une façon de faire participer le public et d’obtenir sa complicité afin que le peuple sahraoui ne reste pas invisible.
