Presentation
The photo was taken in August 2005 in the Ethiopian town of Zwai, one of the hardest hit by the famine of the past few years. Throughout the country, as in most of Africa, children are often responsible for livestock. Pictured here are two children, aged 7 and 4, engaged in herding activities.
Despite the natural resources of Ethiopia, which is noted for having large areas of lush vegetation, conducive to vegetation but not to cultivation, we find cows that are typical of the country but have a starving constitution.
