Biography

Sofía Moro Valentín-Gamazo (Madrid, 1966) is a freelance photographer who works as a teacher at PhotoEspaña and at the school's Lens, Efti, TAI, and Espai d'art Fotografia Her photographs have appeared in international publications such as 'Monocle', 'Libération', 'La Repubblica', 'Die Zeit', 'Financial Times' and 'The New York Times. Winner of the FotoNikon Award in 2009, her projects focus on the defense of human rights.

She has published around a hundred portraits and more than twenty covers in El País Semanal. At the same time, he develops personal projects, which denote a passionate defense of Human Rights. Highlights include "Them and Us", a Fotopres grant from Fund. La Caixa", exhibited in Mexico; "Órbigo, invierno", Musac; "Defensores", Amnesty International. "Photobolsillo", La Fábrica. "¿Quién merece morir?", BBVA Foundation, exhibited in BOZAR, Brussels and Goethe Institute, Madagascar; "Cuidadoras", PHotoEspaña 2020; "Detrás del instante", La 2 TVE, 2020.
