As we solemnly commemorate the anniversary of the Prestige catastrophe, 200 similar vessels are sold like scrap to the owners of Third-World beaches, where profit and the survival of thousands of families speak louder than halfhearted environmental legislation. It’s no surprise that it’s the underdeveloped countries of the world that are the least adapted to the new eco-trends of the West. It’s hardly worth repeating that respect for the environment is a luxury when many of the world’s governments still have the eradication of hunger to deal with.

In these days when a witch-hunt against plastic bags has begun and the future of the planet seems to be in the hands of the big retailers and their recently launched environmental policy, one only has to look a little further afield to find the hidden face of this much-used word: recycling.

Biography

2017 she was invited to join the international agency Magnum. After a first stage in which she worked as a photojournalist for various media, she is currently developing artistic projects, in which she plays with the boundaries between reality and fiction. She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Universitat Politècnica de València, as well as a postgraduate degree in Photography from the University of Oklahoma and in Photojournalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
