The four winning projects that make up the 28th edition of the Luis Valtueña Award can be visited once again this year, as part of the Menorca Doc Fest, in the Claustro del Carme in Maó until 31 October. They showcase the personality of each author and cover various topics such as the famine in Palestine, the silent suicides of the Embera indigenous community in Colombia, the housing problem in Lisbon and the paradoxical protection of the border between Mexico and the United States.

For its part, the educational project Aula Doc of the seventh edition of the Menorca Documentary Film and Photography Festival offers interested school groups the opportunity to take guided tours of the exhibition during the month of October.
This project aims to raise awareness among secondary school, sixth form and vocational training students from different schools in Menorca through photography and documentary films. On the one hand, through these visits to the Luís Valtuena photographic exhibition and, on the other, through the viewing of documentaries and subsequent group discussions that can be held in the schools.
The photographs from the Luis Valtueña Award thus become teaching material in the Doc Classroom, helping to work on emotions and to form one’s own ethics. The Menorca Doc Fest and the quality works on display have a social character, with special attention to sustainability and the defence of human rights.
