Presentation
It has been a year since the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Gaza Strip, with children being particularly affected.
The strategy of starvation impacts more than two million Gazans, leading to severe deterioration in the physical and mental health of children due to malnutrition caused by a lack of adequate food. When the occupation allowed humanitarian aid, it often included products with little nutritional value for children, worsening their condition and leading to numerous cases of poisoning, as most of the permitted items were canned goods. As Israel’s policies continued, the health of children deteriorated further, with essential minerals in their bodies diminishing, resulting in some dying from malnutrition and starvation.
Recently, in response to the famine in Gaza, some charitable individuals have established food kitchens on the streets to help alleviate children’s hunger. Although these efforts may not provide significant nutritional benefits, they at least help to somewhat satisfy their hunger.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry and the Israel Defense Forces, more than 41,000 Palestinians and over 1,400 Israelis have been killed since Hamas militants launched an attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, followed by Israeli operations in Gaza and the West Bank.
