As has been usual since the beginning of the Menorca Doc Fest festival, the exhibition of the Luis Valtueña Award, organised every year by Médicos del Mundo, is present once again this year to open the sixth edition of the Balearic festival.

The 27th edition shows the winning work Inside Myanmar’s Armed Revolution, by Siegfried Modola, a series of 10 photographs that make visible the conflict in a country that prohibits journalists from covering the civil war since its armed forces ousted the democratically elected government in February 2021.

The works of the Spanish photographer Adra Pallón with Demotanasia, the Argentinian Eduardo Soteras with Tigray: Ethiopia sinks into chaos and the Spaniard Anna Surinyach with Mar de luto will also be on display, all of them finalists with projects that denounce different problems related to depopulation, forgotten conflicts or migrations and show a wide range of current trends in photojournalism and documentary photography.

For their part, Adra Pallón (Demotanasia) and Anna Surinyach (Mar de luto) will be presenting their work in the Diaporama format, a commented presentation of their photographic projects, on the 10th and 11th of October respectively in Es Mercadal.

The exhibition is open to the public from the 4th of October until the 25th of October in the Sala Sant Antoni in Maó.

The opening of the exhibition will take place on Friday 4 October at 18h and visiting hours are, Tuesday to Friday from 18h to 21h, Saturdays from 10h to 13h and from 18h to 21h.
