{"id":16976,"date":"2025-09-15T08:57:35","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T08:57:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/premioluisvaltuena.org\/?p=16976"},"modified":"2025-09-15T09:00:22","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T09:00:22","slug":"the-28th-edition-returns-to-madrid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/premioluisvaltuena.org\/en\/the-28th-edition-returns-to-madrid\/","title":{"rendered":"The 28th edition returns to Madrid"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Jose Luis Sampedro Cultural Centre in Madrid is hosting the exhibition of the 28th edition of the Luis Valtue\u00f1a International Humanitarian Photography Award until 24 September.<br>The exhibition brings together the works of the winner and the three finalists: four series consisting of ten images each, which take us to different settings such as the Gaza Strip, the border between the United States and Mexico, Colombia and the city of Lisbon.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gaza photographer Mahmoud Issa denounces the famine suffered by the population since the siege began in October 2023. Photojournalist Daniel Ochoa de Olza shows the dehumanisation of the wall between the United States and Mexico through his series The Gap. Santiago Mesa, with La herida invisible (The Invisible Wound), portrays the suicides of young women in the Colombian department of Choc\u00f3, victims of violence and exclusion.
